The History

GE.S.A.C. S.p.A. – Gestione Servizi Aeroporti Campani –- was established in 1980 as a majority state-owned company on the initiative of City of Naples, Province of Naples and Alitalia (whose stake was subsequently acquired by SEA Group of Milan). In August 1997, each one of the public shareholders sold 35% of their share packages to the English group BAA, the world’s leading airport management company.
With BAA’s acquisition of majority shares, Naples Airport becomes the first airport to be privatized in Italy.
In December 2010  F2i – Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture-  SGR acquired the majority stakeholding of GESAC.
In February 2015, F2i signed an agreement to sell 49% of F2i Aeroporti S.p.A. to a consortium composed by Ardian (60%) and Credit Agricole Assurances (40%). Following the sale, F2i Aeroporti changed the company name into 2i Aeroporti SpA.
